FlatRacks (Platform) xontainers consist of a high-capacity floor structure, made of a steel frame and softwood floor, and two sides (which can be either fixed or collapsible). The sides are quite stable, make it possible to attach the means of load securing and stack several racks on top of each other. Flatracks are available in 20 feet and 40 feet sizes. A number of tie-down rings, with which the load can be secured, are installed in the side rails, corner posts and in the floor. The tie-down rings can carry loads of up to 2000 kg for 20 feet platforms or 4000 kg for 40 feet platforms. Some types of 20 feet platforms have pockets for forklifts. 40 feet ones are sometimes equipped with hoisting device with lashing straps with a maximum load of 2 tons. For transportation of non-standard freight on platforms, supports can be provided.
